The Federal Government of Nigeria Announced the resumption of international flights operations from the 29th of August 2020.
The announcement was made via the the official twitter account of the aviation minister, Hadi Sirika, on Monday 17th of August.
The minister tweeted, ‘’Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August 2020. Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption. Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience.’’
The minister said that flight operations will resume with Murtala International Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, the same way domestic flight resumptions was done. He also said flight protocols and procedures will be announce in due course.
Sirika said, “However, what we have become used to, physical distancing, wearing of masks, washing of hands, temperature taking, etc will continue.”
The minister said, the resumption will begin next Saturday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport , Abuja.
During the briefing, Hadi Sirika said that 4 flights will begin landing daily in Lagos and Abuja, while following strict protocols. Although he didn’t mention where the flights will be coming from.
